At NOUCOR we believe that our business must be aligned with sustainable management, which contributes to improving people's health and the planet itself.
To achieve our purpose, Noucor's Sustainability programme includes numerous Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives that will contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Reduction
of CO2 emissions
In 2018, Noucor successfully achieved a 100% renewable energy supply contract, This, added to other energy efficiency actions, resulted in a reduction of more than 50% of CO2 emissions in the last four years
Energy efficiency
In June 2022, Noucor installed 3,911 photovoltaic panels in Palau de Plegamans site. This represents that a 22% of the total electrical energy consumption in the center is self-consumed and a reduction of 30% in the purchase of energy from electricity companies.
Protection of
natural resources
This commitment has been reflected, among other actions, in a significant 45% reduction in water consumption at Noucor's facilities in Palau de Plegamans over the last 4 years.
Reducing
environmental impact
Urquima, Noucor's chemical plant, has received support for the project to reduce the environmental impact associated with the production process from the Directorate General for Industry and SMEs of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR) in the call for "Aid for innovation and sustainability projects in the pharmaceutical sector" of the European Union's Next Generation Funds.
Certifications
As part of Noucor's commitment, one of the primary and strategic objectives that drive our daily activity is environmental protection, reflected by obtaining certification of its environmental management system according to the ISO 14001:2018 standard for all the group's companies.
Recooperem Project
Noucor maintains its commitment to the food recovery project "Recooperem", an initiative of the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Occidental in the province of Barcelona, focused on preventing food loss and waste, which has been taken up again in this period by:
- 13 municipalities
- 55 active production sites
- 50 schools
- 14 companies
- 18 catering companies
- 13 social organisations
BH Bienestar
Designed to provide emotional and psychological wellbeing, Noucor makes BH Bienestar available to all the company's staff. The programme offers multiple services and benefits such as coaching sessions, themed webinars, personalised psychological assistance, healthy living programmes, and relaxation techniques.
Health and wellbeing at work
Noucor promotes a safe working environment by reflecting its commitment to obtaining certification of its occupational health and safety system according to the new ISO 45001:2018 standard for all group companies. In terms of Health and Safety, Noucor reported in 2021 a frequency ratio of accidents with sick leave in line with the levels of the chemical and pharmaceutical sector.
Ethics
and Compliance
In order to ensure legal compliance at all times, Noucor has published a Code of Ethics which includes anti-corruption and anti-bribery policies, and has made available a whistle-blowing channel. All Noucor employees must undertake to know, comply with and enforce compliance with the Company's Code of Ethics and its internal regulations.
